Was able to make this work under Sierra (v10.12.6) I also bought this from Apple and found that the Ethernet function did not smoothly work (i.e., 'plug and play') under Sierra OS. However, the Belkin driver (fr I also bought this from Apple and found that the Ethernet function did not smoothly work (i.e., 'plug and play') under Sierra OS. However, the Belkin driver (from the URL listed on the packing box) seems both out of date ( from 2015) and does not get properly registered under Sierra (at least in terms of having the Belkin adapter show up under the 'Network' page on System Preferences). But after Googling a bit, I discovered there is in fact an updated Mac driver made available by the apparent Taiwanese hardware (ASIX) maker of the chip in the Belkin gizmo. Go to the following site: www.asix.com.tw/products.php?op=pItemdetail&PItemID=131;71;112 Under the driver list, look at the line showing: Apple Mac OS X 10.9 and above Drivers Installer V2.11.0 2018-05-15 For Apple x86, 32-bit/64-bit platforms 1.1 MB I downloaded the ZIP file and installed the contained driver (there are also instructions from the 2015 era). Then after restarting the driver showed up in the Network page after attaching an Ethernet cable between the Powerbook and a MacMini.

Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software.' It should bring up a location box to search, but there should be an option below the box that says 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.'

I'm having an issue where my computer is not detecting any of the devices connected to my 7-Port USB extension Hub. The very first time I plugged it in to the computer, it was instant plug and play. All of the devices worked great without any problems (External HD, External DVD writer, and wireless mouse). After a couple of system hibernations, the hub decided to stop working. The two USB ports directly attached to my laptop work fine, however my machine now fails to detect anything connected to the hub. My device manager shows that all USB devices are working properly.

I found that you need perform 2 undocumented steps in order for the mac to use the hub correctly: 1) Disable SIP within the mac (steps can be researched online) and the reason is because the driver is unsigned and Mac OS requires properly signed drivers to be loaded. [Be advised this will decrease the security on your mac, and be aware of the functionality that is being modified!] 2) You need to plugin the hub without an ethernet cable first to allow detection, then plug-in the ethernet cable. Once there is a record within the network settings, then you can plug-in the hub with the ethernet cable every time. Unfortunately the answers provided are not what the question was asking for, and what my search led me to this page. The Belkin site does NOT list the technical specifications of this or any other hardware product. I ran a query on the BELKIN site for the 7 port hub FU039, which is old, and decide to look at the current product F4Y041tt, 7 port powered hub. No specifications could be found here or any place else on the web. Careful examination of th FU039, which I own indicates that there is a power adapter female, the product hosing does not indicate the requisite power or polarity, and neither does the Belkin web site. I do believe that it is a 5 volt power adapter at some amperage but am loath to plug in my Mac's into the USB ports fearing that the wrong power might destroy something.

You haven't sketched any details about the nature of your hub problems. However, there's one fix that works most of the time: 1. With your machine on, pull all the data cables from your machine. All you have is your computer and your power. Reboot your machine. Reinsert all of your USB and Firewire devices.

When you're connected again, the Belkin hub should work fine. In either case, leave your results here. You and others will profit from the information. If you're seeing this problem, please run the Console app (in /Applications/Utilities).
