I am trying to be able to access email that needs a CAC to login. I am running Mac OSX 10.9.5 and I can almost get through the install steps until right at the end, an error comes up and states 'Check with the developer to make sure Smart Card Assistant works with this version of OS X.

I don’t know if I will be able to run the installer on another machine. I expect not. Regarding your instructions, I performed the manual removal from the terminal and verified the files and directories were gone. I restarted my machine, downloaded a fresh copy of the disk image, ran the installer, and had the same result. The log entries and error report are the same as for all previous attempts. I have sent you the centrify log and the relevant portion of the system log.

Uninstall any installed copy of Express for Smart Card 2. Uninstall any other Centrify software you might have installed on the Mac (Centrify Express, Centrify DirectControl for Mac, etc) 3. Single sign on is key, otherwise what’s the point. It’s smart and will only ask for credentials (sometimes multi factor) when something different/unique is happening, like traveling cross country, etc. Having been forced to use MDM products over the years, I really appreciate Centrify’s simplified and powerful approach.

Enrolling your Mac device You enroll a Mac device into the Centrify Identity Platform using the Centrify Agent for Mac, which you download from the Centrify Identity Services user portal. After you enroll the Mac, the identity platform installs shortcuts to the user portal and the Managed Software Center in your Applications folder. In addition, you will be able to access the user portal and Managed Software Center without entering sign-in credentials, provided you enroll as the same AD user currently logged into the Mac device. In addition, the identity platform installs a set of policy profiles on the device. The profiles set system preferences that configure communications with your company network and may impose some restrictions on the use of some computer features. You can view the installed profiles from the Systems Preferences page.
Apple created the login keychain as the top level keychain and set it up to lock with the user’s login password, which is greatuntil it’s not. DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM HERE? When the user’s AD password is changed on the mac, there is no problem, but when an external solution is used to reset the password and macOS has no knowledge of that new password, well that is when the trouble starts. Apple’s own mechanism to correct the issue has only led to more confusion. The three options the user is presented with leave most users confused and often choosing to continue with the keychain unlocked, causing all of the application warnings or causing them to delete their keychain and create a new one, which in turn means all application passwords and secrets are lost and need to be recreated.
