Bootcamp does NOT emulate. It reboots the computer in PC mode and you have nothing different than a Dell. It would work for The Sims 4. That said, depending on your Mac it may not be worth it. Most Macs use integrate graphics cards and will play games terribly. I imagine even Sims 3 won't play well on many Macs. You really need a dedicate graphics card which the vast majority of Apple products or PC laptops don't feature.

I have heard of other mac users who have bootcamp using the demo. I recently bootcamped my laptop for college (thank god just saw my mathlab is pc) and its easy the only thing you need to buy is windows 8 or 8.1 or whatever. I'm using 8 anyway.
And like someone stated it splits your mac no 30 day trial to worry bout. The very worst part was learning how to format the external drive (usb) to hold support software during install which just google and its there. I would do it if I were you. I can't say anything bout graphics cards bbut to run pc games or just pc sims games its great. I get to play the sims 2 ultimate when before I wouldn't have been able to.

Parallels/Virtual Box will 'emulate' a graphics card for drivers. The emulation is done by software, what is normally done by hardware.

I will be bringing my mac to factory settings (and backing up certain files on a usb) after i buy the sims 4 anyways! You'll need mountain lion I think as its the most up to date manual. But I'm am by far not tech savy and after finding walkthroughs many on youtube I was able to and its very easy.

I saw the release date is September 2 for North America (where I live) and I would be more than happy to preorder the download but it says on the website 'PC Download', and on their forums and everything they say they have mainly been focusing on the PC version of the game and have no info about the Mac version yet, while its confirmed it will be available at some point. Also, I was one of the lucky people to receive the CAS demo early, but I can't play it because it only works on PC! (it's very frustrating!) I would just really like to know if there has been any other info released about the Sims 4 on Mac computers, and what the pattern has been like in the past Sims base game releases? Have the PC and Mac releases been separate before? I really appreciate the help, I'm super worried that I'm not going to be able to play before school starts for me again and I have to wait for my next break!!

You may need slightly different settings for TS4 or other games but hopefully this might help. NOTE: You will need to 'Apply' any changes you make on each page before going to the next page. Use the 'Settings' button to get to the main setup you need. Also notice that you can use this screen to set different volume levels for the recorded in-game sounds and your microphone. Is very quiet so I have to make sure the input volume is high and the game volume is relatively low. Basic one this, choose if you are recording a video that you will edit and upload or live streaming.
